Information About This Here Website

Congratulations, you’ve reached Properly Calibrated. Join me, Cameron Daigle, as I travel the planet (mostly the Nashville, Tennessee part) in search of new experiences in the not at all completely unrelated worlds of food, drink, and video games.

The idea here is that when I’m not playing an interesting video game, I’m eating or drinking something interesting. And if there isn’t something interesting around to eat, drink, or play, by golly, I’ll FIND something. This is my solemn vow.

If you are even partially interested in any of the following:

  • Old-fashioned cocktails
  • Kind, yet firm food reviews
  • Ranting about user interfaces
  • Coffee
  • Taco Bell taste tests
  • Trips down 16-bit memory lane
  • Recipe experiments
  • Beef tongue & other mystery meats
  • Bloggers with rakish good looks

Then you’ve come to the right place. So stick around — I hope you enjoy at least 1/3 of this website.

A Rather Dry Note About The Current PropCal Design

The current design that I’m using here is the product of a CSS experiment. The middle column is of liquid width, while the outer corners are all fixed-position. There are no img tags; all images are background images centered in divs so that the liquid column can be narrower than the images without overflowing.

Yes, that background-image nonsense is as SEO unfriendly as it gets, but the liquid layout is dandy and has, I believe, a lot of potential for more practical use. If you didn’t even notice it and just started reading, well, that’s the point.

Like most unfinished personal blogs out there, I don’t have an archive page yet. I don’t have an excuse for that. Why are you still reading this? You must be really, really bored. Here, check out this robot unicorn.
